Well, after watching Tracy's video, I ordered the A5 Malden in grey last week and it came in yesterday. It is be-a-utiful! I think I am in love. The only real complaint that I have at this time is the cover. I love the look and the smell, but I have sensory issues with my hands and the cover is so slippery. I usually have to pick it up with both hands, but I can carry it in just the one hand.
I have taken out a few sections from my Domino and added a couple of accessories. So here it goes, another picture heavy post (I certainly can't be the only person that likes them lol)
I chose the grey one. I really love it a lot. I am not a super fan of the glazed cover as I said before.
This is the inside front cover. I really love the zipper pocket. The pen is a papermate inkjoy. I love them.
This is a Martha Stewart by Avery accessory. It is like a photo holder I think. It has two pockets with flaps on them. I have some small stickers in the top one, and some Martha Stewart by Avery repositionable tabs and teardrop thingys.
This is an extra flyleaf with some SMASH tape on it. Not sure what I am going to do with them yet. They come off fairly easy, but the tape is paper so you have to be a bit gentle or it rips lol.
On the back of the flyleaf I have some happy face, and some star stickers. They come off really easily.
Here are the new tabbed dividers I made. I used some scrapbooking paper and the paper SMASH tabs. I really like the way they turned out.
This is just a boring old world map, but I like having it. I am not really sure why though. On the back is the time zones.
New behind the info tab I have an Expenses sheet. I am trying to track all my personal spending. I am not sure if you can see it or not, but I went to Michaels twice in 4 days which is a lot for me, since it is on the other side of town and I don't drive lol.
Here is an updated list of the blogs and websites I frequent. All of the filofax blogs I check are highlighted lol.
This is just the back of the page. I really like filofax blogs lol
This is the blog mindmap from mikesmind. I have checked out other ones but this one really works for me the best.
This is in my SWAP section. It is another one of those Martha Stewart double pocket things. I trimmed it to fit better. I had to cut off the top flap, but there is still a bottom flap. The top has my address labels, and the bottom one has some of my stamps in it.
This is a filofax business card holder top opening one. I have some air mail stickers, and some cards I use to when I send my swaps out.
Here is a sheet with some new swaps I have signed up for. I am just awaiting partner assignment.
In the event section, I have a site map for the Relay for Life I did on the first of June. I am the team captain. My team raised over $1400
This is my week so far.
I ordered the contemporary notepaper and I love it!!!
At the back I have another business card holder with a few cards in it.
Another double pocket thingy at the back with some more stickers in it.
3D Tangled picture thing from the case of the movie.
In the back pocket I took out the notepad, because I don't really like plain white paper. And I put some stickers in the back. That I stole from Tracy, so thanks for the idea!
So that is the basics of my new A5 Malden, and some of the things I changed. I am contemplating ordering the personal size one but I really like the compact size. I saw that they made one in the Malden line but it has a zipper so I am not too sure. I will check it out if it comes to the US site.
Next time I am going to review the new blue Finsbury Compact that I got at the same time I got the Malden. As always if you like this post or any of my other ones I would be very honored if you would follow my blog.
Til next time.
A collection of rants, raves, loves, and passions. It is what it is, it will be as it should be.

Why is one never enough???
I bought my first filofax about 4 years ago. It was a pink Finsbury personal. My son had just been released from the hospital and I had selfishly needed some retail therapy. I used it for a little while, but got extremely frustrated by the fact that it would lie flat. I shelved it for a long time. Actually I think I donated it to a charity, I can't find it anywhere.
I used to use a daytimer nappa in personal size that I have had for 5 years, another shop therapy purchase after my son (who was 8 at the time) was diagnosed with cancer. I absolutely love it. It is luxurious leather, and bendy and floppy......and too bendy and too floppy and eventually I stopped using it as well.
Enter in filofax again...one more time I said. I had seen the pictures on flikr, and read the philofaxy blog for quite some time, so I thought I would give it a go. I purchased an pocket metropol at my local winners store and I really liked it. It was a bit small but I made it work. Then I noticed the rings weren't meeting up, and it didn't close properly. I found a lime green Finsbury personal at the same winners another day so I got it. $16.99 I couldn't go wrong right? After about a week it's rings were right anymore either. I didn't understand, and really I still don't. I didn't misuse it, I opened it with the little levers on either side of the mechanism, I closed it gently with the rings. I never over stuffed it, and I didn't toss it about willy-nilly. I emailed the company and they replaced both of the defective filofaxes....with a great black personal Finsbury and another defective Metropol. I couldn't believe it. The replacement pocket Metropol they sent didn't open AT ALL. I emailed them back to let them know. They reluctantly agreed to send a pocket domino as a replacement. It seemed fine, but I didn't use it for long. I was kinda really bummed about the rings. How could so many binders have such crappy rings, yet there be this entire world of loyal fans to them.
I decided I would buy one more, give them one more chance. So I purchased an A5 Domino in red when it was on sale on the US site. I love it. I use it every day. The rings are PERFECT! But it is a bit stiff, and the elastic closure causes me problems sometimes (I have a medical condition that effects my hands)
Since I have bought my Domino back in March I think, I have bought one for my mother, a slew of inserts, a compact Chameleon (also with a slight ring issue) a personal size domino and I am ordering an A5 Malden, and a compact Finsbury.....
The point of my story is this.....
Why as filofax "fans" do we never settle for just one...what is it about them that compels us to hoard them, and snatch them up like they will help defend us in a zombie apocalypse? I know for me personally, I am hoping that the Malden is softer than the Domino and that the rings are good, and I love the colour of the compact Finsbury (blue) and the compact is my favorite size. I find as soon as I know there is something wrong with one I have to find a perfect replacement quickly.
What about you? How many do you have? And what compels you to purchase more?
if you like this post or any of my others, it would be my honor if you would follow my blog.

IT FINALLY CAME......
I am so excited that my filofax Compact Chameleon in Raspberry finally came in today. I only ordered in on April 24th. I sent an email to filofax on Sunday and I didn't hear back from anyone until today. I haven't had to wait that long before, so I was getting anxious. I have decided to post another blog full of lovely filofax pics. (I love looking at pics of other peoples filofax)
I hope you like.
This is the closest I could get to true colour. I love it.
The front with my post-it dash, and starbucks and tim hortons cards...hey I like em both...don't judge lol
Transit map for Toronto
A shot of my top tabs, I don't have too many side ones right now, saves more space for paper :)
A not so clear pic of the blogs I frequent...can you see which one is second (only to postsecret of course)
A few more top tabs
A list of video games my family wants to get in the near future
A list of some things I would like to buy this year (when I was using my finsbury personal, this and the video game list were in a list tab)
Thought Questions from this site
More Thought Questions
Week on two pages diary
My notes tab...I love the dragon...and the glow in the dark lamby
Instructions for a drinking game lol....I don't even drink really but I saw it on Big Brother last year...neat if you ever have a party
Some of my calendar stickers in a top opening envelope thingy
What's in my back zip pocket...some extra post-its, a few drawings from my kids, and some pocket size filofax paper
The stuff in the front pocket..a note, a tube map for London transit, and some more pocket sized filofax paper, I interleave these with my diary/calendar pages.
Well, I am hoping that this will be my last filofax for a wee bit...trying to save for an olympic one. I am really happy with this one so far, but it will take a bit of getting used to both size wise and the fact it doesn't lay flat and both my domino and my finsbury do.
I hope you like.

I WANT MY FILOFAX....
I ordered a Chameleon Raspberry Compact filofax just about a week ago, and I really thought it would be in the post today and it wasn't. I am so depressed. :(
I purchased it to hopefully lighten the load in my handbag. I am currently using the Finsbury Personal in black for my handbag right now and it is quite heavy. I really hope the Chameleon compact is better. I know it is going to be thinnner, but that is kinda what I am counting on. Do any of you have experience with the Compact filofaxes? Let me know your opinions in the comments. I would love to hear them.
Maybe tomorrow.

A feeble attempt to show off my filofax.....
Hi, so it's been a while since I last posted something and I am really trying hard to fix that. So I thought I would finally try and post some pics of my filofax. I have an A5 red domino. And my camera and I don't really get along so the pictures aren't the best quality. I will do my best to explain each section I have.
The stickers on the dividers are from my sons hospital appointments over the last 5 years. He gets one each time he goes.
So here it goes....
This is the inside front cover. I have some Martha Stewart by Avery sticky notes on the flyleaf on the right, and on the left I have a jot pad, some post-it brand tabs, in the pockets I have some business cards, calendar stickers, and maps and papers
This is my first tab, and it is household. Sorry for the glare....as I said the camera and I don't' get along...I need a new one.
The first page is a personal schedule so I didn't show that, but this is my monthly menu planner, I have four in here, right up until the end of school. I guess I probably don't need March's in here anymore, but oh well...
This is my flylady inspired cleaning list. I amended it to fit my home, and printed and laminated it since I look at it so often.
This is my paint planning section. The top colours are for my sons room, and the bottom colours are for my room. I love grays.
This tab is my personal section. It is written on the blue bit. Sorry again for the bad pictures. In the personal section I have a subway map, a list of day trips and admission costs for my family, and a television recording schedule. I tried to take pictures but for some reason I couldn't get the pictures to show up.
Also in the personal section is a couple of 'sub-tabs' that I have made using the alphabet tabs that come with the filofax. This first one is for my blog.
This is my swapping section. I am not sure where the tab page went for this one. On the left is a vellum envelope is my stamps. I attached it with double sided tape, and on the right side is an Avery page protector that I re-punched and it has address labels, blank address labels and swapping cards.
I also have a list of the swaps that I want to host on the website swap-bot.com, I love that site.
I am the team captain for my city's relay for life for the Cancer Society. Here is the list of items we should bring as well as a meeting planner sheet from filofax.com for the meeting I have on Monday.
Here is another sub-tab for another event I am planning...it is a surprise, so unfortunately that is all you can see....sorry :(
This is my Diet tab...pretty basic and straight forward
These pages are my list of WeightWatchers PointsPlus 2012 foods that I actually eat. With their serving size and point value.
Here are my diet/meal sheets. I use these to record what I eat and either the point value, or caloric value. When I remember to use them of course.
Here is my calendar tab.
I use the WO1P with time management from Ray (http://mylifeallinoneplace.blogspot.ca) and Steve (http://philofaxy.blogspot.ca) The whole reason I use an A5!!
Next is my Art section. This is just a vision board/inspiration thingy
I use this section to mostly zentangle.
This is my notes tab. I love this one the most. It is just filled with filofax brand note pages in blue and salmon. Some multi-coloured as well.
This is my odds and ends tab. It houses things I am really not sure where else to put.
Such as my 101 things in 1001 days...I haven't finished writing the list yet...I am only on 73.
This tab is for my sons hospital/clinic notes.
He is at the hospital often, although not as much now thankfully, but these notes are brilliant.
This section is my school notes section.
These are notes to send to school with my children when needed. I found them on
anythingbutperfect.com
This is my final tab and it is labeled STUFF
On the left are some reinforcement patches in another Avery page protector, and on the left is the plastic envelope that comes with the filo and it has some letters, a picture and some paperwork in it.
This is the back. I have a cardboard piece from a notepad at the back to keep my papers from curling around the rings, and I have nothing in the notepad holder section.
I use two bic four coloured pens in my filo. Fashion colours on the left and normal colours on the right. Thank you for sticking through this very long post. Much filo love to all.
